The high school program at MLIA – SZ is still relatively small which allows for significant personalization of each student’s program.

For those entering grades 11 and 12 in September 2020, they will be completing the BC high school diploma program as well as the Chinese high school program. For those entering grade 10 in September 2020, they will continue to complete the Chinese high school program while being the first Maple Leaf students to complete the Maple Leaf World School Program. All students will have the opportunity to complete Advanced Placement (AP) college level courses.

The new Maple Leaf World School Program builds upon the successful BC program offered to Maple Leaf students over the past 20 years while more fully embodying the concept of the best of Chinese and western education. The overall graduation requirements remain unchanged with World History and Geography replacing BC Sociology as a mandatory course.

Maple Leaf World School curriculum will also strengthen the cultivation of academic English skills to ensure graduates can successfully complete their chosen majors at universities. With improved academic English, the goal is for more universities to recognize the academic English ability of Mapleleaf graduates so that they may not have to complete additional English entrance assessments such as IELTS and TOEFL.

Maple Leaf has also partnered with two independent, widely recognized educational organizations in the recognition of the Maple Leaf World Education Program, Cognia and ENIC.

Cognia currently accredits 36,000 schools, educational institutions and training program in 83 countries and regions around the world. It is the world’s largest non-governmental and non-profit educational certification organization. Maple Leaf elementary, middle and high schools are currently certified by Cognia which will allow the new world school program to be automatically certified. Cognia will provide international third-party credit endorsement for Maple Leaf World High School Program transcripts and diplomas as well as assisting the schools with continuous improvement.

ENIC has been engaged to provide a consulting service to benchmark Maple Leaf World courses against A-level and BC course grades to ensure they are recognized by university admission offices.

楓葉世界學(xué)校課程還將加強(qiáng)學(xué)生學(xué)術(shù)英語能力的培養(yǎng)，以確保畢業(yè)生能夠順利在大學(xué)完成他們選擇的專業(yè)。隨著學(xué)術(shù)英語水平的提高，更多的大學(xué)認(rèn)可楓葉畢業(yè)生的學(xué)術(shù)英語能力，學(xué)生就不必再完成額外的英語能力評(píng)估，比如雅思和托福。

楓葉世界課程得到Cognia和ENIC這兩家獨(dú)立的、得到廣泛認(rèn)可的教育機(jī)構(gòu)合認(rèn)證。

Cognia目前為全球83個(gè)國家和地區(qū)的36,000所學(xué)校、教育機(jī)構(gòu)和培訓(xùn)項(xiàng)目提供認(rèn)證。它是世界上最大的非政府和非營利性教育認(rèn)證組織。楓葉小學(xué)、初中和高中目前都由Cognia認(rèn)證，這將使新世界學(xué)校計(jì)劃自動(dòng)獲得認(rèn)證。Cognia將為楓葉世界學(xué)校高中課程成績單和文憑提供國際第三方信用認(rèn)證，并幫助學(xué)校持續(xù)改進(jìn)。

Pathways to Graduation

Policy: Maple Leaf International Schools offer a high school program certified by the various provinces of China, Cognia and the BC Ministry of Education. It is a three-year program of grades 10, 11 and 12.

The Dual Diploma Program:

Thisis a 3-year Program. Students who begin in Full WS Program (4 WS courses and 1 Chinese course) usually take 3 years to finish requirements for both diplomas and have all the courses necessary to apply for top universities. Under exceptional circumstances, a student may be able to graduate in less than 3 years, but this would require the approval of the International Program Principal.

這是3年的課程項(xiàng)目。從全楓葉世界學(xué)校課程開始就讀的學(xué)生(4門楓葉世界學(xué)校課程和1門中文課程)通常需要3年完成雙學(xué)位證書的要求，并具備申請(qǐng)世界頂尖大學(xué)所需的所有課程。在特殊情況下，有學(xué)生可能在3年之內(nèi)就能畢業(yè)，但是這需要得到校長的批準(zhǔn)。

Bridging Program:

過渡級(jí)課程：

This program is for students who have a strong Chinese academic background and intermediate level English skills but are not able to cope initially with English-only classes. This program may require the student to add one semester and study at MLES for 3.5 years.

本課程為具備較強(qiáng)的中文學(xué)術(shù)背景和中級(jí)英語水平，但是不能應(yīng)對(duì)全英文的課程的學(xué)生而設(shè)。過渡級(jí)課程可能需要學(xué)生多學(xué)一個(gè)學(xué)期，在楓葉學(xué)習(xí)3.5年的時(shí)間。

Foundations Program:

基礎(chǔ)班課程

This program is designed for students who need an intensive English immersion program to gain sufficient competency to participate successfully in the WS courses. This program may require the student to study at MLES for up to 4 years.

本課程是為需要高強(qiáng)度的沉浸式英語課程的學(xué)生而設(shè)計(jì)，以獲得足夠的英語能力，成功地進(jìn)入到楓葉世界學(xué)校課程的學(xué)習(xí)。基礎(chǔ)班課程可能需要學(xué)生在楓葉學(xué)校學(xué)習(xí)長達(dá)4年的時(shí)間。
